What This Session Covers
Most people either don’t have life insurance or aren’t sure what their policy actually covers. This session cuts through the confusion and gives you a practical understanding of how life insurance works in Australia – what you need, what you don’t, and how to make sure you’re not underinsured when it matters most.
Topics will include:
- Types of life insurance explained – life cover, TPD, trauma, and income protection, and how each one works.
- How much cover you actually need – a practical framework for working out the right level of cover for your situation.
- Life insurance inside super vs outside super – the key differences, tax implications, and which approach suits different people.
- Common mistakes and gaps – what people get wrong when setting up or reviewing their cover.
- How to review your existing policy – what to look for and the questions to ask your insurer or adviser.
Who Should Attend
Members who have been meaning to sort out their insurance but haven’t got around to it, or who have a policy in place but aren’t confident it actually covers what they think it does. If you have dependants, a mortgage, or income you rely on, this session is worth your time.
